Adam laughs too. "Yeah, your Gabriel'll be glad of that, I bet." He shrugs his shoulders and stands up. "Sure. I'm not picky!" Although he might avoid the alcohol if it's too early, yeah.
"That he will." Leo leads the way through the house, smile firmly in place as they make their way back to the kitchen. Pulling open the fridge, he waves at Adam to check it out wile he rummages for a glass for him. "Help yourself to whatever. Water, juice, anything hot."
He follows Leo back to the kitchen and hovers a little beside him at the fridge. "Thanks. Water's fine." He's maybe still not over the guest politeness thing, but that's okay. "So...are you on vacation or something? I wasn't sure."
Pointing to the fridge again, Leo nods. "In the door. Just make sure to grab an unopened one. D'you want a glass?" He places one on the counter in case the answer is yes and grabs a second one to take with him back to the lounge where the good scotch is.
"Uh...sure." Adam grabs the glass without really thinking about whether he actually wants it or not, grabs an unopened bottle, and follows him back into the living room. ...Lounge? It feels weird to him to refer to it as a lounge, but that might just be an American thing.
"...Compulsory leave?" Repeated in Leo's wake; trying to wrap his head around that. "Are you okay?"
"Well, I'm sorry you got hurt." Adam looks around for a clean place to sit...then remembers where he is and just sits down any old where. "But...why wouldn't you be able to do your job if you're already healed? Don't mind me asking--and just tell me to shut up if it's too personal, okay?
Leo shrugs, waving it off. It was all apart of the job and he'd been hurt much worse in the past.
"I'll head back soon. My team is out in the field so there's no hurry for me to head back for any missions. I may or may not also be avoiding the medical exam I'll have to have when I go back to make sure I am, indeed, in perfect health."
Adam whuffs out a little bit of a laugh at the last part. "Don't like doctors, huh? Can't say that I blame you. It's...not a bad thing, I guess. Making sure you're in perfect health before making you go back out there." He offers that out there, half question, half suggestion. "Enjoying your imposed vacation?"
"Is anyone really a fan of doctors?" These ones in particular tended to be extra tough, having dealt with some of the worst kinds of people for as many years as they have. "Travis says the same thing. 'Can't avoid medical forever, Leo', 'it's not that bad, Leo, just let the doctor do his job'." There's a fond sort of exasperation even as he rolls his eyes.
Adam grins a little. This Travis guy certainly sounds like one hell of a character, from what he's heard tonight. "Something in particular you're afraid of?" He...understands about these kinds of fears, he really does. "Will he go with you? Sometimes that's a little, y'know, better." He squints a little and gives a sheepish, crooked grin. Possibly implying that he's been there. "I mean, I dissociated during a dentist appointment once. Sometimes it's just sure as hell nice to have somebody there you can depend on." He scratches his eyebrow.
"Oh, yeah, sure! Any time at all, you know? Any time that I'm not working or sleeping, I mean." He grins a little sheepishly and rubs the back of his neck. "It's not that my life's as exciting as all that, sudden visitors coming over isn't going to do anything except stop me from studying and browsing cat pictures on reddit...d'you like hiking? I don't really have anyone who likes hiking these days, and I'd like to go." He doesn't really get the impression that Leo would be overly fond of bugs and dirt...but then again, he's apparently perfectly fine with blood and whatever other nasty realities an assassination mission might entail. He probably wouldn't even blink twice at a nice long walk through the woods. Or would he?
Sorry this took so long. I haven't even logged Leo in in ages!
"I'm not afraid. Not of the doctors. But I'm not great at taking care of myself and one day I just know I'm going to be told something I don't want to here." Leo snorts. "Travis makes it worse. He always sides with the doctor. He's such a mother-hen." Leo pauses for a moment, arching a brow. "Disassociated?"
The brow gets even higher and Leo snorts. "I can't say that I've ever really gone hiking. But I s'pose I could be convinced."
"Sometimes I go a little...funny." Adam waves his hand vaguely, like that actually explains anything at all. "Do you have like...a mom? Or dad? Or anyone like that who could actually take you instead?"
Adam grins a little and raises an eyebrow to match Leo's. "It's fun! Well...calming, maybe. You get to see all the best places in nature and go out walking at the same time. Sometimes it's hard to get me back out of the woods after." He rubs the back of his neck a little. But there's also...uh...dirt." He says the last almost apologetically to Leo, like he's afraid that might be a dealbreaker.

"Um, not exactly. More like compulsory leave."

"Yeah, I'm fine. I got hurt, I'm healed up now but I'm no use to my employer if I can't do my job, so compulsory leave."

"As much as I can. It's nice to have company."

Oh my god, how did five months go by.
